Erika Mayall (she/her), Owner & Physiotherapist
MPT, HBSc(Kin), CAFCI, FCAMPT

Erika graduated with a Master of Physical Therapy degree from the University of British Columbia in 2007.  She also holds an Honours Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology from Western University (2005). Since graduation, she has gone on to complete extensive post-graduate training which has led to a Diploma in Advanced Manual and Manipulative Physiotherapy (FCAMPT) as well as certification in medical acupuncture through the Acupuncture Foundation of Canada Institute (CAFCI). Erika has also trained with  Diane Lee and LJ Lee in the Integrated Systems Model (ISM) approach and continues to develop her skill set with regular ongoing education.

Erika began dancing at the age of 3 and trained at a pre-professional level during high school and university. Through years of dancing and eventually teaching, Erika developed a keen interest in the human body and movement analysis. It was during this time that Erika first became familiar with physiotherapy, and realized there was a lack of professionals specifically experienced in treating dancers. This sparked her interest in a career in physiotherapy, and more specifically in a career in dance physiotherapy.

Erika currently treats all orthopedic and sports related injuries, with a focus on dance and performing arts related injuries.  She has a keen interest in not only treating injuries, but also injury prevention and maximizing performance potential.  Erika has completed specialized training in the field of dance medicine in Australia, Canada and the United States, and has studied with leaders in the field such as Craig Phillips and Lisa Howell.

Erika is an active member of the International Association of Dance Medicine and Science (IADMS) and a board member of Healthy Dancer Canada (HDC).  She is a frequent invited guest speaker on the topic of dance medicine and science locally, nationally and internationally and teaches workshops on the same topics throughout BC and Canada.

Ashley jeon (SHE/HER), PHYSIOTHERAPIST

Ashley is a bilingual Registered Physical Therapist. She grew up in Ottawa, Ontario in an active family where she was exposed at a young age to the benefits of living a healthy and happy lifestyle. She engaged in various recreational sports and creative activities with a focus and passion for dance. Having taken her first ballet class at the age of 3, and through continued dancing into adulthood, Ashley has developed a true appreciation and passion for movement.

Ashley obtained her Bachelor of Health Sciences at the University of Ottawa. Her continued passion for health, movement, and working with others led her to pursue her Master of Science in Physical Therapy at Queen’s University, in Kingston Ontario. She has completed her Level 1 certification under the Orthopedic division of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association, with plans to complete further levels.

Ashley has gained experience working with patients of all ages, from recreational to semi-professional athletes, patients with neurological and cardiorespiratory conditions, and more. These opportunities have further confirmed her love for working one-on-one with clients and found a strong interest in musculoskeletal and neurological conditions.

Grounded in client-centered goals, Ashley uses education, hands-on techniques, exercise programs, and other evidence-based treatments to take a collaborative and active approach to rehabilitation. By enabling her patients with the tools and confidence to be active participants in their recovery, she believes in the importance of taking a person-centered approach and discovering the root cause of someone’s symptoms. For Ashley, it is most rewarding to have the opportunity to work one-on-one to find a true connection and empower each patient to have control over their well-being and enable them to pursue what they love!

In her spare time, Ashley loves spending time with friends and family, traveling, meeting new people, cooking and eating delicious food, finding new skills and challenges, and spending time by the water and in the mountains. She enjoys staying active through a variety of activities, such as hiking, running, dancing, yoga, cycling, and skiing.
